From EDSA Pasay (EDSA's "Sin Stretch". The one lined with one motel after the other), go straight past Roxas Blvd, into that vast land which is in the process being developed, turn left when you see the construction sight of the Mall of Asia then turn right towards the Church. There you'll find a really lovely promenade overlooking Manila Bay.

This is the breakwater. Its really a charming place (despite of some locos who actually SWIM in Manila Bay). Its perfect for hanging out with friends and family. Just chatting, eating, flying kites, hangingout or whatever. It would be a great New Year's spot since you can easily see the annual fireworks display they have along Roxas Blvd. It has a perfect view - overlooking the bay and just the spot for watching the Manila Bay sunset. And knowing me, I'm the biggest sucker for sunsets. I've always been looking for that "perfect" spot in the city. I found it this afternoon. It just feels so dreamy and romantic, specially with the sea breeze constantly blowing. If you were there, you would've actually seen my eyes twinkling (cheezy and romantic novel-y as it may sound). The last time I felt that way about a place was when I was in Dos Palmas and that was quite a long time ago.

Yes, perfect indeed.... well...ALMOST...

I fell in the love with the place instantly that I couldn't wait to tell Apan about it. When I got home, I charged my phone andI texted him. I told him about the location and described the place. *titit titit* message alert. I was really eager to find out what he had to say about the place. Then he replied something like... "uhh, the one near the Church? Actually, I've been there. Yah, it is really pretty...." Yes, he has been there... many times... with one of his ex's... woohoo. I didn't really care to find out anymore who. That was supposed to be my spot (yes, I am kinda territorial). Maderrpakerr. Pumangit bigla ng todo ung lugar. Sana nalang di na niya sinabi.

Yah, a pretty shallow reason but it definitely hosed down my enthusiasm.
I'll probbably get over it

Kill the sickness

I have to get rid of my Sunday stigma. It really is all in the head. It's probably coz I'm carrying the wrong attitude or probably I have an unhelpful perspective of things. Its actually fun going to mass (did I just say that) with my family. Not because I want to go to Mass but because I get to be with them. I spend my whole week at the dorm and sometimes, I'm at school during Saturday. I only have one family. I might as well love them despite the little annoying and angering details. Well, isn't it that way with every family?

I went to Mass with them again a while ago. I felt nice kissing the cheeks of my sisters and my parents during the peace be with you while everyone else looked, in a seemingly jealous way. I still found myself debating with the priest and secretly making fun of his peculiarities in speaking English. But what the heck. I might learn something and I get to practice my skill in imitating people. hehehe

If i don't get rid of this, I'll be missing a lot and I'll probably regret it one day. Little opportunites to make my timw with my family worthwhile, thigns I could learn fromi them, things I could share with them, etc. I don't want to live the "shoulda, woulda, coulda" life.

Why wait for New Year?

Its during new year that we begin making those "resolutions" but, well in my experience anyway, they never work. Those resolutions last for about... a week or 2? Nada fulfilment. How come they never worked for me? Well I guess its because I was never really serious to start with. There's "choleric bitch" in every person and right about now, the choleric bitch in me is calling out.

A list of 20 things to do (both longterm and short term):
1) Stop proscrastinating. (So far, I have been improving hehe. This patient of crammer rehab is on her way to recovery)

2) Get rid of the Sunday sickness. If its all in the head, it should be easy. All I have to do is make the choice/decision to do so.

3) Getting rid of Sunday sickness means paying real attention to my family. Even if it means comming up with the stupidest jokes for "bonding sessions" (Anong banda ang laging nangiiwan? Eeh di, aBANDon. wahahahaha.. btw, I made that up.)

3) Do more for my orgs, not because the paybacks are twice the effort but because there's a lot to give and a lot to learn.

4) Read more books (and not to forget to cover them)
5) Stop smoking. (I actually havn't puffed even once beginning the second sem)
6) Spend at least 21/2 hours of study a day.
7) Try to get an A for Dacanay (oh kay, let's be realistic... B+. teehee)
8) Save money and make money for myself
9) Take better care of feet
10) Spend more time with my dormies/friends aka. Sex and the City girls (yes, and according to my best friend, I'm Charlotte. Sheesh. In other words, I'm the depressive)

11) Make my personalized Diary and Planner. (Its another of my sicknesses. Nothing seems to fit my taste so usually make/ personalize my own.. like the design of this blog. hehe)

12) Spend more time at GK.
13) Bake brownies before new year. Cook something exciting before new year.
14) Get to know a little more deeply other people in Strains.
15) Stop yakking/ blabbing and start SPEAKING
16) Be more updated with issues, news, and yah, the latest whatever than I used to be. Meaning, "step into the world more!"
17) Stop inventing little depressing stories in my head. Misery loves me and I love misery. I gotta end this love affair.
18) Take care of my dogs. Poor things, they are so thin.
19) Start saving up for a digicam
20) Get those art materials and artsy fartsy stuff I've been wanting to buy...

I read somewhere that it helps to write down your goals, no matter how small. Was that "Seven Habits of Effective Teenagers"? Yes, i do think so. Anyway, it feel great to be alive.

Christmas Wish List!

Christmas is just around the corner. It seems like it was just yesterday that I spent Christmas 2003
*gasp* *sniff* I want to give gifts but... i don't have moolah...

Speaking of money, Steph's "hula" came true. Kinda freaky huh. She said in my "near future", u'll be experiencing financial problems. Well hello, hello. Just recently, my CAP checks bounced! In other words, I havn't paid for my tuition. Which means, I'mnot fully enrolled. So technically, I'm just sitting in in my classes. This means I have to raise money. Crap. I need a Mama San. Just kidding. I'm planning to have a garage sale

So, if you have things, clothes, shoes, etc. just lying around your house unsed or not being used anymore and you wanna get rid of it, contact me! I'll sell it for you. We divide the the net (net ba or gross? Sorry, I failed accounting, hahaha!) earnings according to the negotiated percentage. So what do you say?

…..

My Christmas Wish List (libre ang pangarap)

1) Digital Stuff – A new laptop (my old one sucks big time), digicam (the new Olympus weather proof digicam), a printer-scanner (Lexmark would be great though the ink is expensive), an MP3 player
2) Orig CDs (I’m tired of pirated)]
-the complete album set of Foo Fighters, The Best of Foo Fighters, Dishwalla, Sting, Sarah Mclachlan, Gregorian Chants, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Destiny’s Child (yes, I still want their CDs), Alanis Morisette (Jagged Little Pill), Our Lady Peace, Live, etc.
-OPM rock and indie – Kitchie Nadal, Sugarfree, Urbandub, 6 Cycle Mind, Radioactive Sago!, Eheads anthology, The Best of Rivermaya, and so many more…

3) Books, books and more books. Its depressing to walk into a bookstore seeing all those books your coveting to buy.
4) A guitar!
5) A book on precious stones and a “how-to” book on bead work
6) A complete set of Art Materials. The basics anyway
7) Shopping money. I can’t recall the last time I actually bought something for myself.
8) Mga palamuti
9) A trip to La Union where I can finally try out surfing!
10) A day at the SPA or a gift check for a half a year’s worth of foot Spas.
11) A sweet surprise from my bf….
